EPL: Ten Hag States Request for Harry Kane, Man Utd Acquires Hojlund

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag disclosed that he had sought the club’s acquisition of Harry Kane last summer. However, the club opted to sign Rasmus Hojlund instead.

Hojlund sealed his move to United in a £72 million transfer from Atalanta, while Kane made a switch to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in a £100 million deal. In his inaugural season at Old Trafford, Hojlund has tallied eight goals across 26 league appearances, whereas Kane has found the net 35 times in 31 Bundesliga matches for Bayern.

“We have had some choices made with talents like Rasmus Hojlund.

“I can see a striker who already proved it, who we want to sign and we couldn’t get him. And then we went to Rasmus because he’s a talent,” Ten Hag said during an interview with Gary Neville for Sky Sports.

Ten Hag was specifically asked if he was talking about Kane and he replied: “Yes, and you know Harry Kane will get you 30 goals.

“I think Rasmus will get there, but he needs time. It’s not fair to assess him the same as Harry Kane. I would never compare two players because they are very different.”
