Infant Survives After Being Buried Alive by 23-Year-Old Mother for 6 Hours

In an astonishing tale of survival, a newborn baby endured six harrowing hours buried beneath the soil after her mother, a 23-year-old woman from Uganda, reportedly buried her in a garden immediately after birth, without any medical assistance.

The infant girl, buried during the night, remained undiscovered until 11 am the following morning, when her mother’s family members stumbled upon trails of blood in the garden, leading them to the burial site.

Emergency services were urgently summoned, and medics swiftly arrived at the scene to rescue the trapped child, still attached to the placenta. Despite exhibiting signs of limb movement, the baby struggled with breathing issues.

Shocking images depicted the infant covered in deep cuts and bruises, testament to the pressure endured during her night underground. With meticulous care, medics extracted the baby from the makeshift grave, separating her from the placenta and tending to her immediate medical needs.

Despite the ordeal, the resilient newborn displayed remarkable resilience. Placed in an incubator and provided with oxygen, she astounded medics with her recovery.

Examinations revealed no internal injuries, and within six days, the baby was discharged from the hospital, breathing normally without the need for oxygen support within just 24 hours of her rescue.

The newborn is currently under the care of her grandmother, as her mother was apprehended by local authorities on charges of attempted infanticide.

Following her arrest, she was reportedly placed in a correctional center before being transferred to a psychiatric facility.
