Gideon Monday found the back of the net, securing the crucial goal as Shooting Stars clinched their inaugural away victory of the season with a 1-0 win against Doma United at the Pantami Township Stadium on Wednesday.
Monday struck the decisive goal right at the stroke of halftime, securing the victory for Shooting Stars. Meanwhile, at the Awka City Stadium, Heartland put an end to their goal drought with a 2-0 triumph over Abia Warriors in the Oriental derby.
Onyekachi Okafor broke the deadlock for Heartland in the 20th minute, swiftly followed by Ikechukwu Mgbemene doubling their lead just four minutes later.
Meanwhile, in Lafia, Lobi Stars held onto their top spot with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Rivers United. The hosts’ goals came from Samuel Tiza, Alao Danbani, and Kumanga Suur.
Rivers United got their goals through Ukeme Williams and Mark Gibson.
