Flying Eagles Lose 2-1 to Uganda in African Games 2023

In their inaugural match at the African Games 2023 in Accra, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria suffered a 2-1 loss to Uganda in the men’s football event on Tuesday night.

Uganda took the lead in the 35th minute courtesy of Kizma Osama’s goal. However, the Flying Eagles quickly responded as Sadiq Isiyaka scored with a header from a corner kick.

Ivan Irinimabozi secured the victory for the Hippos with a winning goal nine minutes before the end of the match. 

In the other Group B fixture, Senegal emerged triumphant over South Sudan with a 1-0 win.

Next up for Nigeria is a match against South Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
