Co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu, along with Husband Material and Toun Cole, Terry G made his stance clear on the ongoing debate between Wizkid and Davido.
In his unfiltered remarks, the “Akpako Master” unequivocally declared Burna Boy as the reigning heavyweight among the trio, signaling a shift in the landscape of Nigerian music. His candid commentary adds fuel to the longstanding rivalry between Wizkid and Davido, stirring conversations and sparking further speculation within the music community.
“The Wizkid vs. Davido debate, to me, is lame. Davido is the king of Africa. He has an African audience. He sings unapologetic African music,” Terry G stated in Pidgin English.
Nevertheless, Terry G was prompt in highlighting the distinctive musical styles of Wizkid and Burna Boy, acknowledging Wizkid’s unique approach while reserving special praise for Burna Boy as the definitive “king” of the industry, lauding his broad appeal spanning across both continental and international audiences.
“But Wizkid’s mindset is targeted at crossover. His music no dey too relate to us (Africans),” Terry G asserted. “Burna Boy na im get Africa and International. He is their king. Burna pass two of them.”
