The Lagos chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Wednesday announced the death of a medical doctor, Chugbo Emeka.
The announcement was made via a post on the association’s Twitter handle.
The doctor was said to have died on Wednesday, after being exposed to a COVID-19 patient at his private clinic.
He reportedly died at the isolation ward of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
As of April 15, 2020, a total of 407 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in 19 states across Nigeria and the federal capital territory (FCT).
Of that figure, 130 persons have recovered and been discharged with 12 deaths and two evacuations.
